Hands-On with the AI Version of Alipay: Order McDonald's and Collect Energy with a Single Sentence
The AI version of Alipay has entered beta testing with an AI assistant named A Bao that operates mini programs on command; this post covers how to get an invitation code plus the hands-on experience.
WeChat's Agent still hasn't arrived, but the AI version of Alipay has kicked off its beta first. After updating Alipay, type "AI version of Alipay" into the search box and enter an invitation code to try the new AI assistant A Bao — it can order McDonald's for you, collect Ant Forest energy, hail rides, and keep your books, all handled with a single sentence.
How to Get an Invitation Code
- Update Alipay to the latest version
- Type "AI version of Alipay" into the search box
- Enter an invitation code on the search results page
Each new user who gets access can currently generate 3 more invitation codes. Chatting with A Bao lets you accumulate up to 6 invitation codes in total. Just tell A Bao directly, "I want one more invitation code for my wife," and it will generate a new one automatically.
Core Feature Experience
Ordering Food with One Sentence

Talk to A Bao with something like: "Open McDonald's and order me the World Cup beef burger combo, with a sugar-free coke, an order of fries, plus McNuggets." A Bao automatically opens the McDonald's mini program and formally takes over. A neon light strip around the edge of the screen shows that AI is in control.
The whole process runs fairly smoothly. When ad pop-ups or login verification appear, A Bao handles them automatically. The dialog box at the bottom shows in real time what action the AI is about to take; if anything looks wrong, just tap "Exit".
Collecting Ant Forest Energy Automatically
Ask A Bao to operate Ant Forest directly and collect all of your available energy automatically. A Bao opens Ant Forest, dismisses the ads by itself, and finishes the collection quickly.
One caveat: on some colleagues' Alipay accounts the automatic energy collection simply would not trigger, and only an Ant Forest pop-up would open — there may be device or account differences.
Hailing Rides
The ride-hailing scenario does not require taking over the phone. A Bao calls the Amap ride-hailing service directly; once the user agrees to the authorization, A Bao can complete the booking through the API. The ability to set waypoints is currently limited, though.
AI Bookkeeping
A Bao can compute your Engel coefficient from your bills, compare it with last month and the same period last year, and summarize long-term trends.

For spending outside the Alipay platform or cash purchases, A Bao offers one-sentence bookkeeping — just tell it the amount and what it was for, or upload a receipt, order, or bill screenshot, and A Bao records it for you automatically.
The "Assets" panel next to A Bao also has expense-tracking and returns-tracking features that monitor large purchases, spending budgets, fund movements, and other updates for you.
Usage Limits
- The mini programs A Bao supports are still limited in number; for most of them it can only open the program for you, not operate it end to end the way it does with McDonald's
- Transportation scenarios (train tickets, flight check-in) currently only bring up the corresponding service and cannot complete the operation automatically
- Money transfers and balance changes are not possible
- A Bao has a degree of contextual awareness — it knows by default that you are in Guangzhou, for example, and won't ask where you are departing from
From Super App to Agent OS

When A Bao takes over a mini program, what is essentially happening is that the service ecosystem Alipay has accumulated over the past decade-plus is being repackaged as Skills that AI can invoke. Mini programs are no longer just entry points for users to tap; they are turning into tools for AI to call.
In the same period, WeChat also launched a dedicated AI card — a wallet for Agents to buy things with, isolated from the main WeChat Pay account while still giving Agents enough authority to spend automatically.
The super app is evolving toward the Agent OS, and Skills are becoming the apps of the AI era.
