AI Hay – Smart Local AI

Hỏi đáp AI Hay (AI Hay for short) is a consumer AI Q&A and learning assistant from Vietnam's AI Hay Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City), folding Q&A, photo-based problem solving and community discussion into a Vietnamese-first app. It does not take the translation-shell route; instead it builds its own Vietnamese large model plus RAG retrieval, searching the web first and then answering with citations.

Where it fits Best suited to Vietnamese-native school and university students (problem solving, exam prep), teachers (lesson prep and summaries), local office workers (letters, translation, PPT) and social-commerce sellers; not suited to users who need multilingual support or enterprise-grade API/SLA, or who are extremely sensitive about data privacy.

What sets it apart Where ChatGPT and Gemini struggle with Vietnamese local niches, AI Hay differentiates through Vietnamese-language depth and local context (administrative place names, university admission policies, stock tickers). In Decision Lab's survey its satisfaction score was 47%, second only to ChatGPT at 51% and ahead of Gemini (36%); unlike Kiki, which is distributed through Zalo, it is an independent, Q&A-first app.

Editorial take Its reputation is a mix of high overall scores and identifiable clusters of complaints: roughly 200,000 reviews at 4.58–4.66★ on Google Play and 1,549 ratings at 4.73★ on the App Store; the recurring negative themes are Star quota/paywall friction, accuracy and Vietnamese encoding bugs. Worth flagging: since 2026-10-10 Stars are deducted per task, regenerations are still charged and failures are not refunded; it covers edge categories such as fortune-telling and lottery; the privacy policy collects precise location, clipboard contents and citizen ID numbers; and there is no public API today.
