In mainland China it is a one-time ¥68 buyout or ¥25/month for cloud (billed per 31 days, no auto-renewal); overseas it is €9 buyout, €3.50 per 31 days, or €3 per month. Self-hosting is free only for non-commercial use under the BSL-1.1 license.
What can Ekko Studio be used for?

Is Ekko Studio open source?

Yes. The downside: the site has no separate Chinese paths or hreflang tags, so Chinese content cannot be indexed by search engines by language.
Is Ekko Studio secure?
Usable as a tool, but the defaults are weak: the default password admin/123456 is public knowledge, credentials sit together in the .env file, the software has no built-in HTTPS, and the repo has no security disclosure process. Before exposing it to the public internet you must set up your own reverse proxy with HTTPS and change the default password.
