Sync
AI lip-sync and visual dubbing API platform

Tool details
Sync (sync.so / Sync Labs) is an AI lip-sync and visual dubbing platform from Synchronicity Labs that aligns any audio with any face video, and in its own words "makes video as editable as a Word document." Please note: this product is Sync.so, the AI lip-sync / visual dubbing infrastructure layer, and is unrelated to the similarly named Sync.com cloud storage.
Core capabilities
- Lip-sync engine: The flagship sync-3 model supports native 4K output and handles occlusion, profile faces, low light and multiple speakers
- Visual dubbing: One-step dubbing into 29 languages (powered by ElevenLabs), with automatic lip re-alignment
- Developer ecosystem: REST API + Python/TypeScript SDK + Webhooks + Batch API
- Plugin matrix: Native Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and ComfyUI plugins plus an MCP server
- Image to video: A single still image plus audio is enough to generate a talking video
- Watermark provenance: Outputs embed a proprietary watermark, and a verification tool traces their provenance
Use cases ADR, dialogue rewriting and visual dubbing for film post-production and localization teams; developers embedding lip-sync into their own products; advertising and multilingual marketing teams. Non-technical creators who want one-click finished dubbing are better served by HeyGen / Rask / Vozo.
Unique advantages Most competitors are end-to-end finished-product tools, whereas Sync is an underlying capability layer — the only lip-sync tool offering native Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve plugins at the same time, combining API/SDK/MCP integration with the lowest entry price.
Editorial review Its technology and ecosystem rank in the top tier of the lip-sync niche, backed by the Wav2Lip team plus YC W24 and GV-led funding, with a recommended score of 4/5. Points are deducted mainly because dual per-second/per-frame billing is expensive and unpredictable, the barrier is high for non-developers, and G2, Capterra and Trustpilot all have no valid entries, leaving independent reputation samples severely insufficient. Developer community discussion centres largely on per-second billing costs, and large-scale reviews are still lacking.
