Tool details

PawPortrait Lab is a pet portrait generator: upload one photo of a dog, cat, bird, rabbit or horse, pick a style, and get a finished image in a royal, watercolor, oil painting or memorial look. No prompt writing, and no account needed to try it.

Core capabilities

  • 217 styles: the server registers 217 canonical styleIds and the frontend exposes 331 keys including aliases, covering royal, watercolor, oil painting, cartoon, Van Gogh and memorial looks
  • Five species covered: besides dogs and cats it also handles birds, rabbits and horses, with dedicated sections for memorial portraits and pet-and-owner portraits, wider than competitors that stop at dogs and cats
  • Zero-prompt generation: the style is the product, templates ship with preset prompts, users only tap to select, so the learning cost is close to zero
  • Server-side watermarking: the watermark on free previews is burned into the pixels by the server, and only unlocked versions are delivered clean; the frontend adds no overlay of its own
  • Lightweight no-login path: anonymous visitors can upload, images land in a private Supabase bucket, and the generation service receives a signed link that expires in 1 hour
  • One-time purchase: from $1.99 for a single image, the 10/30/50 portrait packs reach roughly $0.30 per image at the lowest, with no subscription and credits that never expire

Best-fit scenarios Built for ordinary pet owners who want a funny or memorial portrait of their own pet that looks expensive, who only want to spend a few dollars, and who do not want to learn prompting; bulk style trial and error is where it pays off most. It is not for people who need print-grade precision, controllable editing, or a finished image right now.

Standout strengths 217 styles plus five species is much wider than the many competitors that cover only dogs and cats with 6 to 35 styles; at about $0.30 per image the unit price is two orders of magnitude below the $19.99 per image charged by Pet Canvas. The price of that is zero controllability: no prompt input, no inpainting and no seed, so in essence it is a style-filter product.

Editor's review Engineering completeness is higher than at similar quick-launch sites: genuine signed uploads, server-side watermarking, idempotency keys for deduplication and no quota deducted on failure are all done right, and it unusually states outright that it calls gpt-image-2 through the third-party gateway APIMart rather than running an in-house model. But all 37 legitimate test requests returned 503, so the generation service is currently unavailable and the page behaves like something that looks usable until you click; checkout is not enabled either, so the four price tiers are only listed prices for now. Worth listing for observation, but it should not be ordered right now as a tool that produces an image immediately.
