Slite
A self-maintaining AI team knowledge base

Tool details
Slite is an AI team knowledge base built around the idea of self-maintenance: an AI Agent monitors knowledge drift, drafts revisions automatically, and routes them for human approval, hitting the pain point of documents that nobody maintains and that gradually drift away from reality. It targets remote/hybrid teams of 10–200 people and knowledge-intensive roles, positioned as a more focused, lighter knowledge foundation than Notion/Confluence.
Core capabilities
- Slite Agent (self-maintaining engine): connects to Slack, Linear, GitHub, Jira and others to monitor “knowledge drift”; when reality diverges from a document it drafts a revision, which is saved after human-in-the-loop approval
- Ask with citations: natural-language Q&A over your team documents returns direct answers with citations; verified documents rank first, unverified ones are down-weighted, and results are permission-aware
- Document verification workflow: assign an owner and a review cycle (for example 90 days) to a document; when the cycle expires it prompts a review and shows a “Verified” badge
- MCP context layer: exposes the same retrieval engine to external AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor
- AI writing and translation: rewriting, polishing, summarizing, formatting cleanup, and Wiki generation
- Underlying models: Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Gemini Flash, hosted on European cloud regions
Where it fits Best suited to teams of 10–200 people that already use Slack heavily and want a focused, low-maintenance internal knowledge base, especially in product, engineering, HR, support, and operations roles. If you need databases, project management, or strong permission governance, Notion, Confluence, or Guru is a better fit.
Unique strengths While Notion and Confluence are organized around “storage first,” Slite centers on document verification and freshness, treating AI as the core rather than a bolt-on. AI is included in the paid plans with no separate add-on purchase, pricing sits below Glean/Guru, and the company commits that customer data is never used to train AI.
Editorial assessment Clear differentiation and solid compliance (SOC 2 Type II / GDPR / HIPAA), G2 around 4.6/5 and Capterra 4.7/5, with generally positive feedback. It loses points for a fairly narrow capability boundary and for removing the free plan after the relaunch, which raises the bar for very small teams; as of 2026-10 the product is still actively operating and is worth listing.
