mymind
A privacy-first, AI-powered visual bookmark knowledge base

Tool details
mymind is a visual personal knowledge base built by mymind, Inc. in the United States, and its tagline is "Remember everything. Organize nothing." It puts bookmarks, notes, inspiration, screenshots, and images into a private space, where AI automatically tags, categorizes, and retrieves them. It mainly targets designers, writers, researchers, and visual thinkers (it is unrelated to the Irish mental health organization mymind.org or to mind-mapping tools).
Core capabilities
- Automatic AI tagging: content types (articles, products, videos, and so on) are recognized and categorized as soon as you save something, with no manual folders or tags needed
- Image text recognition: reads screenshots, memes, photos, and even handwriting so that what is inside an image becomes searchable
- AI summaries and PDF analysis: the Mastermind tier automatically generates article summaries, analyzes PDFs, and adds tags
- Visual retrieval: search by keyword, color, brand, date, or object inside an image; Smart Spaces groups items automatically and Same Vibe gathers images in the same color family
- API / MCP connections: the public beta in 2026 opens up the API and MCP, which can connect to Claude and ChatGPT
Where it fits It suits designers, creatives, photographers, and people with ADHD or "messy" habits who mainly collect images, screenshots, inspiration, and quotes, as well as individual collectors who value privacy and beauty. It is not a good fit if you need team collaboration, want to retrieve long articles by meaning, or are budget-sensitive.
Unique advantages In the bookmarking space, mymind stands out with a nearly "anti-social" privacy stance (no ads, no tracking, no social features, no selling data, not used for training) combined with a first-class visual canvas. It commits to "zero organizing + beautiful + private", at the cost of giving up collaboration, open integrations, and bulk import.
Editorial assessment The AI core is real and on by default, and the underlying models are not built in-house: private content goes through Amazon Bedrock, while public content goes through OpenAI/Google. Reception is clearly split: Google Play 3.5/5 (1,096), Chrome extension 4.48/5 (73), Product Hunt 4.6/5 (33), while Capterra/G2/Trustpilot samples are too few; complaints center on pricing, stability bugs, the lack of offline or collaboration features, and English-only support. Recommended for visual, privacy-conscious individual users.
