MyRevisionAgent
AI marking against official IB/EPQ criteria with sentence-level feedback

Tool details
MyRevisionAgent is an IB and EPQ coursework grading platform run by the UK company MyRevisionAgent Limited, which turns TOK, EE, IA and EPQ essays into reports broken down against the official criteria. What it sells is not a prompt but a hybrid pipeline in which Claude reads the essay and the company's own statistical models assign the mark.
Core capabilities
- Layered marking: Claude only does the close reading, feature extraction and feedback generation, while the mark comes from proprietary models — an XGBoost/random forest/GBR ensemble for the EE, and Ridge regression with 50 features for the IA; the company's own wording is "the LLM never picks the mark itself".
- Calibrated on real scripts: trained on 2,271 examiner-marked scripts, with an error range reported per subject; a separate validator flags any case where it disagrees with the main model by more than 2 marks.
- Reports with error bars: the predicted mark is written as "24 ± 2", with a criterion-by-criterion breakdown and sentence-level highlighting over the original PDF (colour-coded across 5 skill types), streamed back in 4–6 minutes.
- Four graders: TOK /10, EE across 21 subjects (/34; 2027 onward /30), IA across 34 subject-levels (/14 to /40), and EPQ for the four UK exam boards.
- Revision loop: an editor for sentence-level edits and one-click re-grading that keeps every version; Course Recommender and Shortlist Optimiser are free.
Where it fits IB DP1 and DP2 students, especially those who have had only one round of teacher feedback and want to know what this TOK/EE/IA would score and which criterion is dragging it down; UK EPQ candidates; applicants working on the three-prompt personal statement. It is not for people who want ghostwriting or practice papers.
Distinctive strengths Much of this niche is a thin wrapper; MyRevisionAgent turns "mark it against the official scheme" into an estimate with error bars, and it lays out its technical layers in public. Compared with RevisionDojo, a full-subject revision platform, it is narrower and deeper, and its coverage of the four EPQ boards is something the others do not offer; tokens never expire, which suits polishing one essay at low frequency.
Editor's take In a narrow niche it is the most open about its methodology, and unusually restrained: it will not write for you, it only tells you which sentence is falling short. Self-driven IB/EPQ students and admissions teachers should spend the 2 free credits on the IA they feel least confident about; if it fits, buy the 5-token pack, and heavy users can move to the monthly plan.
