The Qwen Gaokao Application Agent: A Free AI College Application Tool
Alibaba's Qwen has launched China's first full-cycle gaokao application Agent, free for all 12.9 million test-takers, offering three core capabilities — application report, application calendar, and application Q&A — stress-tested in advance by 400,000 AI test-takers.
Filling out gaokao applications is far more complex than most people imagine: 12.9 million test-takers, each filling in roughly 50 major preferences on average (up to 112 in Liaoning Province), choosing from nearly 3000 universities and over 2000 majors, with almost no room for error.
Qwen has launched China's first full-cycle gaokao application Agent, free for test-takers nationwide and online every step of the way, from checking scores to submitting applications to tracking admissions.
Three Core Capabilities
Application report
Enter your province, subject selection, scores, and ranking (the system automatically converts your rank against the one-point-one-band table), and the Agent outputs a complete report covering university recommendations, major analysis, and a reach-match-safety strategy.
Optional fields extend to target universities, regional preferences, institution type, tuition preferences, major preferences, career leanings, and post-graduation plans. For personality type, Qwen worked with Beijing Normal University to build in the MBTI career personality test, which you can complete right on the page. The more complete your profile, the more tailored the plan.

Application calendar
Open Qwen Gaokao and an application calendar pops up automatically, laying out score release dates, application windows, admission progress, and more, so the entire application cycle is clear at a glance.

Application Q&A
Ask the Agent about universities, majors, admissions rules, and more at any time. For example: "I'm a Beijing test-taker with physics, chemistry, and biology as my subjects, scoring 660, aiming for an AI major, and planning to study abroad — which universities should I apply to?" The Agent analyzes the whole picture and gives targeted advice.
How to Use It
- Open Qwen, search "gaokao," or go straight to the Qwen Gaokao channel
- Fill in province, subject selection, scores, and ranking (all four required)
- Add optional details (target universities, regional preferences, major preferences, and so on — the more detailed, the more precise the plan)
- The Agent automatically generates your application report, including the reach-match-safety strategy
- Keep asking questions afterward and track your admission progress
Tip: Last year, nearly 13 million Alibaba AI gaokao application reports were claimed, covering almost every test-taker. This year's upgrade to a full-cycle Agent means more than a one-off report — it follows along from score release to admission. Fill in your personal information before the application window opens so the Agent can produce a plan early and leave yourself plenty of time to adjust.
Key Numbers
- Free and open to all 12.9 million test-takers nationwide
- 400,000 AI test-takers completed stress tests in advance to validate the plans' reliability
- Covers nearly 3000 universities and 2000+ majors
- Nearly 13 million reports of the same kind claimed last year
